recovering data from "erased" hi-mds???

Gonne keep it brief...
Got busted taping last night, and long story short was made to erase the 2 hi-mds.

Is there any way possible to recover the information from the discs?? I erased them, and did nothing further..did not record on them again..nothing.

Any help would be very, very appreciated.

I called Sony in AL. And he guy told me that he was fairly certain that they could do it for me. I just have to call back monday and speak to someone else, then send the discs in.

^glad to hear it!

in the event that they are unable you could also try this:
http://www.minidisc.org/cloning_procedure.html

BUT before you do, use another unimportant disc, record it then blank it (as similar a situation as you can create compared to your important discs) & see if you can recover the data with the TOC clone method. it might not even work at all with hi-md. you can use a little piece of string or something to stop the door from locking to trick the deck into writing the TOC to the incorrect disc.

fwiw I've never done this method, only read about it, proceed at your own risk.

Glad to hear it'll work out in the end. Busted & still triumphant.

Who was the artist, if you don't mind me asking?
