Question Port question

New to the Den, and I want to make sure I keep my share ratio kosher. It looks like I am firewalled. I know about canyouseeme.org and I have had no probs downloading. My question is how do I determine which port I am using?

Re: Port question

It depends on what bittorrent client you are using. In Vuze, you can find the port it is using by going to Vuze > Preferences > Connection > Incoming TCP listen post (and UDF listen port - they are usually the same). That is the port you need to forward in your router.

Re: Port question

I may be wrong but imho the port # matters little. It's how long you seed/keep the computer on that counts.
Since you have 20 Gb to give back I'd leave it on 24/7 till things look better.

(my 2 cents)

Re: Port question

The port # matters if you want to forward your ports so you aren't firewalled.

Partially true, however if said firewalled user is seeding and only firewalled leechers try to connect, no one can help each other out.
