uTorrent alternative

I have recently upgraded the Mac to Catalina, I didn't realise that uTorrent would no longer function. Can anybody out there recommend a good, or maybe better alternative ? Many thanks

Re: uTorrent alternative

I'm still running utorrent here but was asking around about alternatives and got this:
Quote:
I use qbittorrent these days but I can't say how it will behave on Win10, I'm still Win8.1 (i use a hack for Win that prevents notifications about upgrades, registration, activation etc)

I think it's a lot better than utorrent and is just as simple an interface, slight differences that took very little time to become muscle-memory

https://www.qbittorrent.org/
hope this helps!

Re: uTorrent alternative

I hear people seem to like Folx by reports. I don't know by first-hand.

Tried Qbit for a while, thought it had too many options. This may be exactly what people like and want. I had Vuse before that as my intro client. It -really- appealed to my OC instincts.

Transmission has worked on (OSX10xx - OSX10.15.4) no problems. (get the new one (2.94) - don't get the versions earlier than Tm 2.93). works nice, small footprint and memory impact, all the features you need. check the site if you are still uncertain.

My feeling is that the maths basis of PtP and torrents are in chaotic systems and there is little or no control over them. It's a bit like the passwords we chose, they may not add much to our real security but they make us feel better by giving us something to do.
