MD(Hi-SP) or MP3???

The lineage is :
Source: Sony MD MZ-NHF800 HD-Mode + Mic Sony ECM-717
Conversion: Sony MD > PC > Wav > Flac Level 6 > You

The spectral shows a haircut at 19kHz, so when the taper means by HD mode,
does he actually just meant Hi-SP mode, or could this be in lossy?
