Re: Burn flac, ape or shn straight to CD?

No, you have to burn it as an audio disc (wav/aiff files) in order to play it on a stereo. flac, ape, and shn files get burned as data discs. I don't know of any home stereo that will play those files. (There is an mp3 player that will play flac files, so I suppose you could put it onto that and plug that into your home stereo.)

But there are plugins for Nero, etc. to allow taking your .flac, .shn, etc. (compressed files) and burn them directly without decompressing them to .wav first. It will decompress on the fly. If that's your question.
