Torrenting one-to-one

If I wanted to get large audio files (too large for e-mail) from one person to another using bit-torrent clients such as Vuze, how would I do this?

There wouldn't be a centralised tracker, such as this site, so what needs to be done differently....?

Re: Torrenting one-to-one

Private torrents are easy. I use them often.
Go here and and get yourself some "Excellent" rated trackers:

http://www.trackon.org/

Use the announce URL's just like you would to make a .torrent file for TTD.
I always use multiple trackers because some may fail or go off line during the torrent. You must make sure that each announce URL is seperated by a full empty line, otherwise the client you use to create the .torrent file will only recognise the first in the list.
Email the .torrent file to the second party and start transfering files. The data will not transfer if both parties are firewalled.

Good Luck !!

I'm pretty sure you can just use Vuze to serve your own private torrent. Go to Preferences > Tracker > Server and I think you set it up there.

Google give me this - http://wiki.vuze.com/w/UG_Options#Tracker_options

Re: Torrenting one-to-one

You can do private torrents in µTorrent with its built-in tracker as well-
However my ISP gives my a new IP address every so often- so if the torrent doesn't complete before then I have to start all over again.
Of course the other party can just pick back up the download by starting the new torrent file.

Here is a guide-
