Why is my ratio dropping...

The last five torrents I downloaded it shows my share ratio at 1.5 or better. During that time my ratio dropped from 2.04 to 2.03. I am not firewalled, so any ideas?

Another math whiz. Obviously 1.5 is lower than 2.04. If you don't want your ratio to go down you need to have ratios on those torrents of at least 2.04.

Through broken english there, I think he means he seeded back an individual torrent 1.5 times back, so having seeded back more than he downloaded for that torrent by now, why has his overall ratio gone down even though he has already gone above the 1:1 ratio that you'd need to make a downloaded torrent neutral against your overall ratio.... Is that right?

How *IS* this stuff really calculated, anyway?

It doesn't *really* matter here! Other than some well-placed more or less well meaning messing around with some comments, they don't count towards or against much of anything here. They're a good indication to you whether or not you're doing a good job of sharing back the stuff you downloaded. Just keep seeding! Don't worry! You're doing great!

It looks like mathematics isn't your strong point.

The OP originally had a ratio or 2.04. That means he uploaded more than twice what he downloaded.

In order to keep that ratio he needs to keep on uploading more than twice than he's downloaded.

On a few torrents, he only uploaded 1.5 times the amount he downloaded, so he didn't meet his high standard of 2.04, so his ratio reduced.

Re: Why is my ratio dropping...

Daniel is absolutely correct, as I pointed out earlier. One other thing to note, as your upload and download totals increase it will take larger variances in the per torrent ratios to make a change in your overall ratio.
