best available reel to reel tape? Anyone selling?

hey guys, anyone know what the best quality tape available today is? I am doing some small recording projects, I own a number of reel tape decks, tandberg td20a, akai gx 747, sony tc-880-2, akai-400D-SS, pioneer 909/707 etc. Yes my wife loves me, right?
So, the question: what do you think is a good general use tape that is out there in cyberland that I could still order? I used to use Maxells and loved them. I have a boat load of empty reels ready to be filled with fresh tape. In other words, I just need the RAW tape, no reels, If anyone has some NOS or lightly used Maxells, we could talk. I have a few 10inch take up reels to trade, or trade some tapes with boots on them too? Anyhow, I am looking for advice or someone to offer me some decent tape for $/trade/because you dont know what to do with it! Please, let's talk, I am just getting back into an old hobby and actually recoding on these decks again!

Ampex's tape manf arm became Quantegy.

Quantegy was the last analog ferrous oxide recording tape manufacturer in the world when they shut down a few years back, if I remember correctly. they are the ones that were planning the yearly limited-runs on 2" tape, etc.

A reel of 1" tape now runs $425. Ow.

That's nuts, wow. I was looking for 1/4 inch stuff. I will just use google and buy whatever there is out there, I am glad I am not hunting for a studio reel. That's crazy!

Maybe some place in China is making some 1/4" tape. I'm sure itl be crap for multiple passes, but might be ok for occasional use.

This place in Holland seems to be still making it...

Follow the Contact and Agent links to find sellers in North America (assume that's where you are...?)

Ohya cool, I will check that out too. yes I am North America, Vancouver. As far as the Chinese tape goes, one pass might work but, I would be worried about it breaking, if it's cheap then who knows, could be an option too. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
