Re: UK broadband provider warns for illegal filesharing

This is getting more and more widespread it looks like which is nuts because of the growing amount of legitimate needs for broadband. Here in the US Netflix and Blockbuster are selling downloadable movies to take advantage of broadband customers.

also, bear in mind that they appear to be going after filesharers who upload and download officially-released material. Whilst i'm not saying they'll never go after sharers and downloaders of live shows - or even, that they won't go after us right now - their main concern is those who download with the intention of never paying.

Re: UK broadband provider warns for illegal filesharing

I have a 20Mb connection with Virgin. I've downloaded and uploaded at least 50GB in the last month, I've been looking forward to getting a letter but it's not my turn yet.

All the uploading I did was on DaD, so no copyrighted stuff was uploaded from me, I think that's the bit that means I'm safe, for now anyway.

And yes I am gonna upload stuff on here, just as soon as I get myself organised ...
