Re: POP UP HELP PLEASE

Ad-Aware & AVG Anti-Spyware are both fairly effective at removing spyware & they're free.

Ad-Aware at CNET: http://www.download.com/3000-2094-10045910.html

AVG Anti-Spyware: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5
(It actively blocks & updates during the 30 day trial, after that you have to manually update & scan)

If you're running XP (SP2?) you might DL & run Windows Defender. It actively blocks a lot of crap. It's another freebie. Get it from Microsoft's site or via CNET downloads.

Re: POP UP HELP PLEASE

Are you using the Firefox browser? If not I would switch. It's free. It is so much safer and more secure than Internet Explorer, and I think it blocks pop ups better than IE. There are also all kinds of free plug-ins for it.

Re: POP UP HELP PLEASE

Adblock, Adblock Plus, Adblock Filterset.G Updater and any of the others that strike your fancy. I've been using Adblock for a long time and it's worked well, but your question spurred to me check FF's Add-on site. I'm gonna have to try some of the other adblockers.

Re: POP UP HELP PLEASE

do you have Firefox set to block popups? in tools > options > content > check box "block pop up windows"

I don't use it but there is Adblock Plus:

Maybe I should, it looks good.

Flashgot is a good one for assigning things to be downloaded by GetRight (resumable downloads).

I also use the Super Mario Bros. 3 extension.
