bitTorrent at college?

What say you, are any of you/have any of you shared non-copywritten music at school. Any ideas regarding what I should do for the next 4 years? UMass seems to have a bTnazi-esque program and the network is being watched by RIAA because too many people use Kazaa and LimeWire to share eMPty3 files. I just want to jam out, and the tech nerds will harsh my buzz.... what are your thoughts?

Re: bitTorrent at college?

agreed on the off-campus housing. the dorms are good for one year's experience, but after that, the apt is a very nice thing, for so many reasons.

as for bt, i would read the t&c/etc very carefully. i know they are very careful about bw usage, and if the riaa is apparently watching traffic, then i'd be careful. i know i helped baylor setup their monitoring program (i uploaded probably 2-3tb to irc in 2 semesters, the next year they had a t&c and monitoring/access program and everything) thats all in the past now, my jolly roger is retired.

I will refrain from rambling on about this topic at length.
