"invalid torrent file"

for almost two months now, whenever i try to download anything from TTD, i get a notice that the d/l has "an invalid torrent file." i've tried everything i can think of- turned off firewall, downloaded latest uTorrent, installed BitTorrent- and i still get the same notice. does anyone have any insight into where the problem lies? i get the same notice from Planet Rock. but i have no trouble with Dime, bt.etree, Workingman's Tracker, etc. please pm to me or post to this forum.
thanks,
doug.

Re: "invalid torrent file"

log out completely from TTD (logout button at top right) log back in.
do you login via a shortcut or favorite?
check that it points to: www.thetradersden.org

post back with updates - unfortunately its on your end.

Re: "invalid torrent file"

direwolf-pgh,
thanks for the reply, but i'm afraid it didn't work. yeah, i was pretty sure that the problem is on my end, but i've tried to figure this out on my own. you can see that my ratio is more than adequate, and i'm able to log on and post to this forum, but i just can't get the torrents to d/l. any other suggestions would be most welcome.
thanks,
doug.

Re: "invalid torrent file"

no problem. its been a few months since we've seen anyone with this issue.

try this:
Use a different browser to test out.

Also, if you are using IE go to Tools> Internet Options > last tab/second to last tab > select Reset
(reloads IE default settings)

hope this helps

Re: "invalid torrent file"

direwolf-pgh,
IT WORKED!!!
thank you! i linked through IE (rather than msn.com or ptd.net). i was worried at first because when it asked if i wanted to "open'' or "save" i hit "save". it put the "torrent file" in my drive, opened that, which opened my BitTorrent which, again, identified it as "invalid". so i went back in and, instead of hitting "save", i hit ''open'' and, boom, there it was! i'm d/l'ing the Stanley Clarke Trio w/ Lenny White from 2009-10-15. now it's on to Planet Rock to d/l some Traffic that's been screaming my name for a while now!
thanks again,
doug wolfe
