What is a DC++ Hub?

Can someone explain what exactly it is......and how it pertains to music trading.

Re: What is a D++ Hub?

It's DC++ hub. Direct connect (DC++) is a program used to access a type of file sharing network. You login to a hub which contains items specific to that hub. lossless, anime, etc... You can see eveyone else logged in and can chat. some hubs are public others are private requiring passwords. You can only see the items that are actively shared by the people in the hub.

Isn't it untraceable, because the computer that is the hub is at someone's house?

I visit one everyday and the hub is ran from one of the users' computers.

Re: What is a D++ Hub?

It's more like Napster. The worst part about DC++ is the fact that you're stuck with somone's upload speed. What if they're splitting it 4 ways? Not so bad if their uplaod is 250 kB/s or greater, but any normal connection sucks on hubs. Try getting a dvd at 5 kB/s...
