Torrent Allowed?

I have the Stevie Wonder Birthday Concert at Wembley. I've heard this aired on BBC Television from 1990. I don't know the lineage, but the quality is very good. The audio is not lossless, but it is not a VHS rip: the video and audio is very crisp.

Can anyone clarify whether such a torrent is allowed? The rules lead me to believe not, but then I see Stevie's BBC concert from 1995 as well, so I'm just a bit puzzled.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Torrent Allowed?

If the audio is not lossless, then it wouldn't be allowed here no matter what the show is of, so I'm not sure exactly what the question is.

Audio can be lossy if it was compressed only once, during recording.
MPEG2 and AC3 are both lossy formats.
If the show was re-encoded it will not be allowed on the tracker.

How was it recorded and on what type of equipment?

Re: Torrent Allowed?

For some reason, I was thinking we were talking about an audio torrent... and I've had my three cups of coffee, so I don't know why I'm still half asleep.

Listening to U2 can have that effect on some people.

Re: Torrent Allowed?

This torrent like all here will require more lineage info. than you have presented to date. We will have to know how it came to be.

please review our seeding guidelines here and post back if you have any questions. lossy ac3 audio is allowed for video torrents but not audio by itself.

Re: Torrent Allowed?

Thanks for the help.

I'm afraid my suspicions were correct. I acquired the DVD as part of a trade on iOffer. I have absolutely no lineage to go by as it came on a DVD-R. I figured there may be some flexibility because I have not seen it on any other tracker anywhere and the video is not available for purchase anywhere, yet is a fairly common and popular bootleg video (much like the BBC 1995 show).

Since I have no lineage, it looks like it will have to remain unshared. Thanks for the help though. First things first, I'll work on my ratio .
