Sorry, I should have mentioned that this was for using Nero ROM. Glad you got it to work.

Re: DVD Burning(menus, chapters, etc)

No matter what program you're using to burn with, a video DVD is just like a data DVD. You don't even have to bother with using Nero's option to burn a video DVD. Just burn a data dvd. Copy the VIDEO_TS folder to it. Whoever authored the DVD already put in the chapters, menus, etc. To be on the safe side, you may want to also include an empty folder called AUDIO_TS. There's never anything in it, but some older DVD players might require it.

Re: DVD Burning(menus, chapters, etc)

Another newbie here to dvd burning.
My burned dvds are freezing in the players I've tried, usually in the same spot, but different spots from dvd player to dvd player and from dvd to dvd. I'm using nero, which doesn't seem to let me burn at less than 4x and I support 8x. I shut everything else down and verify the data at the end but still encounter problems. The dvds play fine on my computer as do the downloaded files.
Do I just have a crumby dvd burner?

Re: DVD Burning(menus, chapters, etc)

Nero has never worked for my burner. I have tried it several times, only to end up with errors.

I switched to CopyToDVD, and it works great. My burner supports 8x, but I always use 4x just to be safe. I have even tried burning at 2.4x, but that gave me errors too, so I just stick with 4x.

So your problem is quite possibly Nero and/or burn speeds.

Re: DVD Burning(menus, chapters, etc)

I'm another total novice about to dive in for the first time. I just got a sweet Tea Leaf Green vid DL'd. My pc doesn't have a DVD burner, so I use my Nomad as a jump drive and take large files to my bro-in-law's pc which does. He has Sonic Solutions' software. I've made data discs, but never video DVDs. I'm gonna guess that the same general rules apply as with Nero. Hopefully, I don't trash my spindle of blanks getting this done right!

Re: shaky dvds

You don't need to encode DVDs that you download fromt this site. Don't do anything to the VIDEO_TS folder or its contents. They are all ready to be burned.

Sometimes the shot is shaky because the taper is holding the camera by hand and that isn't easy to keep steady. Also, check and/or post in the threads to see if other people mention anything about shakyness, but I'm guessing they're shaky because you "encoded" them.

So just try burning the files without doing anything to them first and see how that works.

Nero DVD question

Alright so I'm kind of new to this whole DVD burning thing, and I just got by burner last week. Anyway I downloaded a Jack Johnson show and a Dead show and burned 'em to disc no problem.

Now the problem. I just finished downloading the Hendrix Atlanta Pop show and Nero want let me burn. I add the files to the program, and then this error report pops up.

NeroVision.exe - Application Error
X - The instruction at "0x006b6ce4" referenced memory at "0x01623a00". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

Is this a problem with the files or with Nero. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Stephen

Re: Nero DVD question

There are two things that pop ito my head straight away:
Firstly, if its a bad file, it won't work.
Also, if you're writing a video disc (you selected "video disc" rather than anything else in the Nero menu), and you don't have the correct format, it won't be able to write it. Try just writing a "Data disc" instead.

Re: Nero DVD question

Well I thought it might be a bad file, but of the 100s that have downloaded the show there's nothing in the discussion where anyone else had this problem.

So in order to make a data disc which files do I need to put in? Just the .vod files, right?
