Question Sudden inability to download from TTD

I am a long-time member who just saw the Woodstock 99 videos re-posted. I got about halfway through, and now am stuck without the ability to get anything more downloaded.

- I'm not shown as firewalled.
- I can download from other torrent sites with no issues.
- My port is shown as open.
- I use Vuze V5.7.1.0/4 az3
- I can upload just fine.
- Most of the time I am shown not connected to any peer, but occasionally show I am connected, but have no download speed (e.g., Kid Rock is shown as good, but I am at 0% and infinite time remaining. There are 9 seeds).

Anyone have any idea what I have done? Is this because my share ratio has been reduced due to the huge video download?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Sudden inability to download from TTD

You are currently shown as connected to several torrents, but I don't see a Woodstock one on the list. What is the link to the thread of the torrent that you think you are connected to?

But I am not connected to any peers, and am making no progress.

When starting Vuze, I sometimes connect for a few seconds, but then it goes bad.

I am uploading and connecting to peers on TTD.

...deleted a few entirely and redownloaded. Sevendust is now working. I'll try more.

Well...didn't finish Sevendust. Got to 76%. The rest are still stalled.

Re: Sudden inability to download from TTD

Not sure anyone is still watching this, but when I restart Vuze, I get green lights for a few seconds (20-ish), start downloading a few shows and get a few tenths of a percent, and then they stall and I lose all peers.

I get connected once and a great while, and have finished a couple, but am still waiting on 8 more DVDs.

I can download anything from Dime with no issues.

I've rebooted my computer, router, disabled my router firewall and Windows Defender temporarily, forwarded different ports, enabled and disabled DHT...I'm stuck.

Re: Sudden inability to download from TTD

If anyone is interested, two things seemed to solve my problems:

- I turned off IP Filters, which were somehow blocking the peers I eventually got, even though they were not in the range of IP addresses in the block list. Once the torrents got going, I turned the IP Filters back on, and torrents kept seeding.

- I disabled DHT, which drastically improved speed on one very slow moving torrent.

TCP inbound and UDP inbound, despite using an open port, still fail in Vuze's Internet Connection Test.

FWIW.

First step is to uninstall norton completely, reboot and try again. There may be some conflict with the built in windows firewall, assuming your new PC is Windows 10.

Truthfully, you don’t need a 3rd party firewall with windows 10. The built in firewall is pretty secure.

When you install uTorrent, it makes exceptions in the windows firewall for you so, after you remove Norton, you may need to reinstall uTorrent to get those exceptions properly set.
