Logout, clear your cache and your cookies, and login making sure you check the Stay Logged In box. Then go back to the torrent thread and try to download the torrent file.

Re: Invalid Torrent File

Yeah, please tell us a bit more about what is going on. Exactly what are you doing and what is happening? What OS? What bt client? How about a link to the thread you are trying to get the torrent from.

Re: Invalid Torrent File

I'm wondering if it is due to the common problem of invalid characters used in either the torrent title or the file names

Re: Invalid Torrent File

that's wacky
I have no problem downloading this torrent

If you are not getting the proper file extension when you download the torrent file it ussually means you are not signed in (or you are clicking on the wrong thing), but I assume that is not the case here.

try this

download the torrrent file to your desktop,
right click on it and rename it as Silverchair 2007.torrent

Try again

I would take a look at your browser preferences and see if you have some rules set up to deal with images/torrents and such. I'm not familiar with IE, so I can't give you specifics for it.

Re: Invalid Torrent File

The next time you download a torrent when the little box pops up asking you where you want to put it, look closely at the file name.

If it doesn't have the proper extension, .torrent, you might want to reinstall your BT client, or choose another one.
