Footage has small pixelations after transferring

I have a canon hv30 and ive not used it a lot since ive had it,and the heads are fine. When i transfer from cam to pc it seems fine judging by the preview screen on nero.Sometimes...well quite often i get a few seconds of digital pixelation on the footage which isnt on the original tape. This may only happen say once or twice during a 60-90 bit of footage, but rather it didnt happen at all.As i said the heads are fine, the cam is not years and years old,and this has also happened with my older sony mi dv in the past.Im assuming as the original footage on the tape is fine, something is happening during the capture process.Any thoughts, ideas, solutions welcome.

Re: Footage has small pixelations after transferring

could be a number of issues...cam, computer specs insufficient, low quality capturing pro, etc etc...tough to tell just on the info above

I would guess whatever program you are using to capture is rendering it down to some lesser bitrate. What are the stats on the captured file when you drop it in Gspot?
