Re: Firewalled

Well it's a lot to explain in a single post...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_number

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...ndows-Firewall

If you are using a router you need to do the same on the router's website...

Usually on the router's website there will be something like:

Firewall >> Settings

& you'll have to find your computer on there & make a rule opening the port #. The port # needs to be assigned to utorrent & opened in windows firewall & also your router's firewall...

1) Setup your workstation as a static IP address.
2) Download client (Utorrent recommended) Any questions during configuration, post up.
3) Login to your router and setup port forwarding matching the port number used in Utorrent.
4) On your firewall software make sure there is an exception for Utorrent and add port access for both TCP and UDP for the same port number used in Utorrent and Router.

That's it in a nutshell. Research, read, learn ... Don't let frustration get the best of you. I remember it took me like 3 months before I figured it out.

I downloaded this from lossless legs tracker. Great doc for explaining what i stated above. You may not even have to add the port access as mentioned in step 4. However it can't hurt. The doc is good for VUZE and Utorrent users. All credit to LL for putting this together.
