lossy source?

Just picked up a rare Tool show, but not too sure about the freq anal and spectrum. Take a look, the purported source is Core Sound Binaurals > Sony TCD-D8

Lossy or 32KHz Dat? If I had to guess, I'd say lossy, but I don't know so much about this, so thank goodness for the kind people here!

Many thanks,

James

PS - if you want more files or a 5 sec wav clip, just ask

Re: lossy source?

Here you go. Cheers for the link, had missed that. I have AF as well, but find it looks rubbish, need to get that tweaked.

Re: lossy source?

thassok

analfreq is a little unstable because the developer went to shareware a few years ago... however, the readout is excellent

btw this snippet is fully lossless as far as I can ascertain

That's champion! Thank you very much. If you have time and can post a ss from what you based it on and why, that would be cool, otherwise muchas gracias.

Re: lossy source?

you're welcome...

mainly, you can tell because the frequency response goes all the way up to 22050Hz (in this case mainly noise in the upper half), also when zoomed to 2 seconds in spectral view to evidence of lego-like blocks visible. also doesn't have that lossy slurry sound to the ears.
