DVD Audio playable in all DVD players?

I have read the threads and tried several programs but can't find one that will allow you to burn wavs as dvd video which will play on any DVD player-DVD Audio compatible or not.

Any ideas? I previously used Audi DVD Creator but it doesn't seem to work anymore-PC Vista computer.

Thanks again!

Re: DVD Audio playable in all DVD players?

I have Nero Express, and that worked.

Also good idea to check if the player itself is compatible, all newer ones should be, I guess. Thats the problem, nothing will ever be compatible on *all* DVD players, not all DVD players like computer-burned DVDs.

Maybe the problem is its WAV files, I know I put MP3s into Nero, but MP3s tend to be "lossy" (although with cheap $10 pop-and-squeal speakers I can't tell).

I did think of one way you could try -- you could probably author a DVD-Video that only shows the album cover and song title, and each song would be a seperate chapter. Only a suggestion if other ideas fail.

Thanks but yes I was hoping to preserve the wav files if possible since they are lossless. I think my dvd player is too old.

it isn't too old.

You have to encode the WAV files at 48kHz, 2 channels, 16 bits. You must then mux them into VOB files, just as if they were video.

Your player playes video, that's it. So you mux the 48k uncompressed wavs into VOBs with a blank video stream. They'll work in any DVD player, then.

But, if they are 44.1kHz, you can just burn them to CD and play them. Upconverting to 48kHz to play on a DVD player will do you no good at all.

I'll try it but my question has to do with creating dvd audio (in the video folder) that will play on a dvd player that doesn't have dvd audio.

and my answer tells you exactly how to do that. you have to mux to VOB with blank video stream.

Re: DVD Audio playable in all DVD players?

mux just means to combine the audio and video streams. "demux" is to take them apart.
