burning dvds in MAC Os 10.6.5 or higher

I have found that dvd imager does not work with this version of the OS

I can create .dmg file or just use Burn of Mac and burn the VIDEO_TS files which are playable files here and there at my house.

BUT

I have a dvd player or two that will not read VIDEO_TS files to happily

So is there any freeware that will help me get back to making .img files which I can then burn in disk utility?
I like my current all region phillips dvd player but it is not cool with VIDEO_TS files

Just a few ideas and a question for the endless how to burn issues within this hobby.

Re: burning dvds in MAC Os 10.6.5 or higher

why are you converting the VIDEO_TS folder to an .img or .dmg and then buring to DVD?

VIDEO_TS folder > burn as data dvd

Re: burning dvds in MAC Os 10.6.5 or higher

because the phillips player I have will not read the straight VIDEO_TS file set...so when I plunk one of those dvds in I have to open the VIDEO_TS and run the .vobs which makes menus and navigation weird...
.img work great in that player...like a store bought
.dmg which I can make via disk utility act just like VIDEO_TS files I'd burn in Burn for Mac (which is where I make data disks)
capeesh?

give it a shot.

here is the terminal command again
Quote:
hdiutil makehybrid -udf-volume-name DVDNAME -o ~/Desktop/filename.iso ~/Desktop

Replace 'DVDNAME' with the name you want to want to assign to the disc. Replace 'filename.iso' with a name for a disc image generated by the command.

Re: burning dvds in MAC Os 10.6.5 or higher

I can work around this issue with only a small bother but it would be nice to have an all region bluray player which can handle VIDEO_TS files smoothly.

damn this hobby is a hassle some times.
