Drive Missing Question

Mmmmmkay....so...I have an external drive where I download my music to ...g:\

Yesterday I TRIED to set up a wireless router and associate it to h:\ drive...which I did.....however, somehow....my external data became re-associated to h:\ drive from g and now g:\ is no where to be found, which screws up sharing because of course my music is no longer associated to original path.

My question is this...how do I associate my music to h:\ in utorrent ....will I have to make a new torrent for each download just to share? I'd rather just make a new g:\ drive and transfer music back to original location.

I have a program called Total Command which makes moving files easy however I'm stuck knowing how to actually add g:\ back to the menu to safely transfer music back to that drive. If anyone has an inkling of what in the hell I'm talking about could you please give me your thoughts?

Re: Drive Missing Question

hello cyndi

wireless networks dont normally create 'drives'..but lets move on.
it sounds like your G is now the H

if this is the case:
  • Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
  • (a new window will open)
  • Select: Drive Management (from the Left Column).. it will display your hard drives.
  • Locate your H drive from the right column display>
  • Make really damn sure its the correct drive (size..etc.)
  • Right Click the drive and select: Change Drive Letter and Path
  • Select the Change button from the new window >
  • Change the drive letter back to G
*******

be really careful when in that panel - if you misclick and format your drives we will both cry. ..you more than me

hope this helps
