Deinterlacing

working on authoring something, it shows interlaced on tmpgenc. But when I go to 'Simulation' and preview the clip, I get an option to view the video as 'progressive' when I right click. It looks so much better and smoother like this. Question is if I go ahead and convert it to 'progressive' tmpgenc dvd authoring tools, will the quality turn out to be nice and smooth like it shows on simulation?

it also won't let me turn off 'I Picture' when I click progressive.

is there a better software that easily convert DVDs to progressive without having demux etc... Or is it just a good idea to leave the dvd interlaced and just film to next show with a camera that records in progressive?
