Pink Floyd Giant Barn Dance and 30KW PA and remastering?

Hello lovely moderators,

I have the two Pink Floyd LPs called Giant Barn Dance and 30KW PA.

I have ripped them in 24 bit resolution 96kHz and I want to upload them with pictures of the album covers.

I guess that there would be no problems with this so far.

I want to write in the info file that it would be really great if somebody with the time and skill were to remaster both LPs and upload their efforts complete with nice graphics in 24/96 resolution.

I notice there is a new rule about remasters hence my question, would this be OK?

Many thanks

Steve

What do you think needs to be done to them to improve them?

Re: Pink Floyd Giant Barn Dance and 30KW PA and remastering?

Well for a start they are from vinyl so remastering would remove the pops and clicks. The recordings are quite low so they need normalising and in some places the taper has changed the recording levels which could also be corrected. Some equalisation would be good to bring up the bass a little and maybe some hiss reduction.

The reason I think it worthwhile is that I have a master tape from a different recorder that is not as good in terms of quality. A remastered version of these two LPs is likely to be the definitive source for this show.

If you have other information then please let me know...

Regards

Steve
