Re: lossy?

looks pretty minidiscy to me. could you zoom in just a little closer on the spectrum? (maybe on 1.5 seconds instead of the ~2.4 second range you used)

Re: lossy?

Yea indeed MD. wtf is with all these MD-compressed old shows? I must've been severely underestimating the importance of MD as a music storage medium during the 90s..

Re: lossy?

lol thanks. i guess an original lossless copy mustn't be in circulation much or at all.

when is the earliest that there will be actual MD taped shows for?

Re: lossy?

I think it was first released late '92 and started catching on in '94-'95... correct me if I'm wrong here...

Re: lossy?

Minidisc was launched Winter '92 I believe...

I'm also amazed that so many people were archiving their old shows on MD....

When will we start to see flacs of shows that were MP3's then archived to MD? DAT>WAV>MP3>MD>WAV>FLAC - ooohhh..that will be niiiiice....

Re: lossy?

lol

In case anybody's reading this and doesn't understand, MiniDisc is acceptable as a recording source but should never be used for archiving purposes. "MD" in the middle of a lineage is not cool.

e.g.
MD > FLAC = okay

DAT > MD > FLAC = not okay!
