A couple of things come to mind as I have had similar issues with raid cards in the past. You don't say what the motherboard model is and what other PCI cards may already be in the system but I would try pulling everything you don't need out. That way you can work with just the RAID controller to see what will get it working right. A RAID card will sometimes show up as a SCSI device in Device Manager so I guess that was what the other post was referring to, give us some more info about your PC and we may be able to help.
