DVD compliance test failed.......help please

I have Nero, and have burned a few hundred DVD's from copying and with DVDshrink and DVDecryptor with no problems.

When I tried to burn my first DVD download I got this message:

Backup File VTS_02_0.BUP should be identical to VTS_02_0.IFO

DVD-VIDEO compliance test failed

resulting DVD may be unplayable.

Anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

Re: DVD compliance test failed.......help please

I had this happen to me once. Not sure if it's the right fix or not...but it worked.

First, COPY both of those files into a totally separate folder - just in case you mess up or the fix doesn't work. You can just create a new folder and call it "original IFO and BUP" or something like that.

Make a second copy of the good file (.IFO) to your desktop. Rename this one, VTS_02_0.BUP. Bring this renamed file back to the VIDEO_TS folder. Windows should ask you if you want to replace the file that's already there, say yes.

That should fix it.

Re: DVD compliance test failed.......help please

I tried that and it didn't work, but then I ran it through DVDshrink which basically did what you said to do just through a different program and I'm now watching the first DVD I've downloaded from this site.

THANKS

Re: DVD compliance test failed.......help please

This might but dumb but I know I have accidently put the files in the Audio_TS folder before and got that error.

Just a thought...could be something as simple as that.

I doubt it though. Worth a shot.
