Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

Hey Lynne: Thanks for all your awesome work on the transition to the new server. I just wanted to note one other flaw that no one else seems to have mentioned. It's that the 'e-mail notification of private message' function appears to be buggered. I always received an e-mail when I had a PM prior to the server switch, but since then the PMs have arrived, and I have had no e-mail to let me know. I took a look at my options, and the notify box is definitely checked. It's a small point, since I'm logged on here so often, but just FYI

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

Hmmmm, strange. I hate ones like this cuz I know I'm getting my PM emails. Maybe try turning Off the option and Save and then turn On the option and save. See if that changes things. (You don't have certain emails blocked, do you? I just noticed that the emails are coming from [email protected] right now, not [email protected], which is what it used to be . I'll see if I can find where I goofed in that setting.)

edit to add: I found the setting and changed it back to how it was.

and
http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...ad.php?t=33311
both apparently now have (2^32)-1 leechers...
Some other torrents have what appears to be inflated numbers of seeds and/or peers, but not this badly

Where does it come up with that number?!?! I mean, why (2^32)-1? And why does it only do that to the leechers. I've never seen it happen to the seeds number.

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

first, i just want to say thank you for all the hard work you've been putting into the move. i know computers can be a real bitch when it comes to stuff like that. i wanted to let you know that i don't think my ratio is regestering. well, i think the download side is, but definately not the upload side. i've had a few torrents going for prob about a week or so, and my ratio came down accordingly. a few days ago they all finished and i've been seeding steadly since then, but my upload hasn't changes at all. i know it tales longer to upload and it goes up slower, but it should've definatley gone up some by now. i've been letting them seed 24/7 for close to a week now. just a fyi...

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

chewie, I'll watch your profile. However, right now I'm not seeing you on any torrents (none are listed until your profile). That could be because we just rebooted apache after making some changes, I'll check again in a bit.

edit:

Your stats when I originally posted: (758.15 GB/705.38 GB/0.93)

It's now almost five hours later and I still haven't seen any torrents listed in your profile. (And thus, your stats haven't changed at all.)

I noticed you hop on last night and that your stats were changing. Currently they are: chewie420
(758.15 GB/707.53 GB/0.93)

So, your upload has increased by 2.15 GB since you started. That seems pretty standard for overnight for me.

Do you think maybe you just didn't notice them going up before?

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

Hi there - I am really struggling to download http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...ad.php?t=21275 and I am not sure if it is something that I am doing wrong or if there is a problem at your end?

I started on 1st March 14:03 GMT and I am at 45.1 % but currently going nowhere. This is the log from BitTorrent after I restarted in an attempt to get it going.

[5.0.7 2007-03-11 20:10:40] WARNING : Problem connecting to tracker (http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...asskey=xxxxx): None: Connection done.

I have also installed Azureus to see if that was the problem. Similar but slightly better response. Started on and now at 15.6% complete.

Against Tracker Status: it shows Connection Error (timeout).

I am a newbie but have successfully downloaded audio files (using BitTorrent) and one video torrent (using Azureus).

Here's hoping you can help me

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

Are you continuing to get the error? I can see you on the Peers List for that torrent right now, so you are connected.

edit: Also, are you torrenting from the same IP you are posting from? Oh, and you may have to go to the General tab and hit Update Tracker to force it to try to announce again. Then you can see if it gives you the error still.

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

Hi U2Lynne, yes still have the errors.
On BitTorrent nothing happening at all.
One torrent (LZ Knebworth) downloading, but 0 up/0 down. Others have completed but 0 up!
On Azureus Health was showing red. Just gone blue. 3 peers shown but 0 up/0 down.

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

And what is the error you are getting from the tracker? (Are you trying to torrent the same show from two different bittorrent clients? That will definitely cause problems.)

edit: some of the torrents you are on have 0 leechers, so there is no way you can upload anything to them.

Re: The "It's broken, please fix it" thread...

BitTorretn shows:

[5.0.7 2007-03-11 20:44:22] ERROR : Error regarding "LZ-Kneb08-04-79":
bad data from tracker ('d1:failure reason73:Connection limit exceeded! You may only download/leech 6 shows at a time.e')

[5.0.7 2007-03-11 20:44:22] ERROR : bad data from tracker ('d1:failure reason73:Connection limit exceeded! You may only download/leech 6 shows at a time.e')

Azureus - hit Update Tracker. Now downloading at 200 bits/sec. Could take a while!

Yes re posting I only have one ADSL connection. Bit Torrent and Azeureus are on the same machine/router/adsl connection.
