i've had that issue on my G4 a few times, but all i had to do was open Toast BEFORE mounting the disc, and then i could access the disc in a Finder window...if Toast wasn't open, it would give me some Error message and spit the disc out.
but since you tried that already...i'm stumped
i'll try talking to my "Mac Tech Support", maybe he'll have an answer for us
