How to Split or create tracks for shows?

Since I have a large archive of recordings on cassette and digitize them, I have to deal with splitting up the huge wav files to individual tracks. At first I thought that was a lame thing to do, using my own subjective idea of where these concerts, moments in history should be spliced up. I do my best, but know that if I was to split up the same show at different time intervals that I would get different results, similar but not exact.

But, I also would be slightly bugged when I was listening to a particular show if I could not just skip to the tracks I want to really hear when I am in the mood to hear my favorite tracks. I also get that if I didn't split my own shows in individual tracks, then someone else would just do it and probably it will end of torrened in a way I don't really like how it was tracked.

So I just wanted to ask what is the rules with this issue or just the opinions of others here.
Since they are digitized, and if you have drive space, why not make two of each? One original, one chaptered.
