thanks for the info, I did have Azureus running while I was burning and maybe some other stuff so I'll try shutting everything down. I had major probs burning DVDs when I got new computer last year but its because I used junk media, I switched to the Taiyo Yuden and have had no probs at all since except with the Dual Layer burning.

I made the same mistake when I first started burning DVDs. Now, I turn everything off before I start burning.

You did click the box on the bottom that says DVD-9[8.5 GB]? I'm sure you did but it was another possible problem that ran through my mind.
