not at all

the recorder isn't relevant (still include in lineage, of course) as long at the resultant recording is lossless, meaning:

- no data compression used (MP3, ATRAC, MP4, AAC lossy, etc)

That's all that matters. In some cases, mics wont be full 20-20k freq range and that is also allowable, as long as no data compression is used.

Data compression codecs discard up to 90% of the audio data in order to save space, leaving non-musical noises in their place (aliasing) where the audio data was chopped out. Even with dithering and anti-aliasing, it's still unnatural and that what we try to avoid at TTD.

So, if you'd to post a sample, one of us can test to be sure what you got was actually PCM but it sounds like your recording is fine.
