To burn them to an audio cd, you would want to convert them to wav, not flac. I don't know PCs, so I can't recommend something to use, but there are a ton of converters out there that should do that. As for the gaps, you will always get that with mp3s. You would have to use some sort of software to look at the wav file and delete the little bit of space that is left at the end (beginning also?) of the track. Just remember to never, ever trade that audio cd!!! Also, if you then take one of those wav files and convert it back to mp3, you will be losing even more data - that second mp3 will sound worse than the first original one.
