well, you could "normalize" and see if that does what you want. im not sure if cep has that feature or not but im betting it does. there are settings for normalization so fool around with it til you find out what you think sounds best. make sure you include a normalization note in the text file when you seed. i use soundforge for my processing but if i recall, the two progs contain similarities .
