it isn't too old.

You have to encode the WAV files at 48kHz, 2 channels, 16 bits. You must then mux them into VOB files, just as if they were video.

Your player playes video, that's it. So you mux the 48k uncompressed wavs into VOBs with a blank video stream. They'll work in any DVD player, then.

But, if they are 44.1kHz, you can just burn them to CD and play them. Upconverting to 48kHz to play on a DVD player will do you no good at all.
