yeah you can get a crossover cable... about 10 bucks and do the transfer. has to be a crossover cable which means the pins are flipped to work right. You also might look into a usb drive enclosure... I'm not sure how much those cost now... I'd guess about 15-20 bucks. remove hard drive put it in the enclosure and use it like an external for transfers.
