If it is not the issue with format (PAL; audio mp2; DVD-R+) then try to check
disc quality with Nero CD-DVD Speed (freeware):

Setting or correctly scan speed has to be set at 8x. If you get PO failures, PI over 15 or jitter over 13 it can be problem with the disc brand or/and your burner.
BTW: never burn a disc at maximum speed it's labelled - half is usually the best.
