UPS Battery Backup Help Please?

I'm trying to figure out what type of battery backup (UPS) I need to get for my system.

I need to know how much Volts-Amps (VA) the UPS needs to be

I read somewhere that I need to look at either the amps or watts of the devices I would be plugging into the UPS. Multiply the amps by 120 and the watts by 1.67 (somewhere else said 1.82). Take the product of everything I multiply and add them together. That would give me the number of VA needed. The same info also said there should be at least 400 Joules.

So, the back of my monitor says

AC 100 - 240 V ~
47 - 63Hz 2.0 A

The back of my computer (HP Pavillion 750n) says

AC Input 100 - 127 V~ 4.0 A
50/60 HZ 200 - 240 V~ 2.0 A

So I did this

2 x 120 = 240(monitor)
4 x 120 = 480(computer)

240 + 480 = 720 VA?

Does this sound right. If so I would get one with slightly higher VA to include the adapter for a VOIP line (trying to decide between Comcast and Vonage).

Thanks
