true true ssamadhi...i was thinkin more along the lines of "wav vs flac"-type compression for video...which, as you pointed out, would be pointless due to mpeg2's level of quality...
the real question i wanna know is--when will technology catch up to be able to offer pure dv footage with 24/192 audio for home viewing
