Well, it was too late. I had already posted this thread.

I'll take it into consideration next time I'm about to post audio, or perhaps I won't post audio at all. I mostly deal with video, anyway. I'm not a big fan of split FLACs when one has a properly made CUE-file, but I understand your views.

The thing is that with a cue-sheet the cutting can be made like this:

Track N stops. Track N+1 starts index 0, with negative time, like -00:01:00. Artist talks. Audience noise etc. Track N+1 reaches index 1 at 00:00:00 and the music starts. This means that if track N+1 is selected on the cd-player, even if it lacks index capacity, it WILL start the playback at index 1, at 00:00:00.

When splitting one would want it:
Music of Track N ends, artist talks. Audience noise etc. <Split> Music of Track N+1 starts.

No#1 is a much more beautiful solution, but I think you might be right about that people will split it themselves. I might have a look at CDwav. Perhaps I should include a batch-file with the seeds that transforms the splits into one single FLAC.
