what make/model DVD player do you have? it could incompatability issues with the standalone.
other wise, check and see if there are only .ifo, .bup, and .vob files in the VIDEO_TS folder...sometimes, if there is an .md5 checksum *inside* the VIDEO_TS folder, it'll cause problems with a standalone.
