I've seen this happen a couple of times, both on our site and a couple of others. It's like a query error of some sort cuz it's not like the number is maxed out on the index page which lists the total number of peers on the tracker. It usually goes away when our cleaner comes along (every 30 or so minutes) and recalculates the numbers. It is kinda funny though.
