I tag all of my uploads. The tags show when they are played on a media player. This is more useful to me than seeing the file names, since those only have band and date.
Also, if you tag the files using foobar, you can number the files, and that will be the order they are played on the players.
Tags are not much use when you burn the files to play on a cd player.
