After actually reading the page, the problem doesn't seem that simple:

That’s easy: 17-inch or 20-inch flat-panel iMac, an eMac with SuperDrive, a Power Mac G5 or new Power Mac G4 with SuperDrive, or a PowerBook G4 with SuperDrive, your system is already compatible with the high-speed media.

I've got the Powerbook G4 with superdrive, so supposedly it should NOT need the update. I'll keep checking around to see if I find anything. Thanks for your help everyone.
