I've had a Seagate FreeAgent 500gb model for about 4 months now and no complaints at all. File transfer speeds are decent using usb2, but are on par with regular drives when using esata. I recommend them to all my friends and they have been using them as well with no faults I have heard of. BTW. My father has a WD 500 usb2 only and his has worked fine as well.
