You do not need a static IP. I don't have one. When you read things like
portforward.com and they talk about having a static IP, usually they are talking about having a static *local* IP which is the one that looks like 192.168.1.xxx. So, if you are giving your computers static local IPs, then you need to turn off DHCP in your router. If DHCP is turned on, then it will give your computers a local IP and it may be different everytime you turn on your computer.
