sounds like it isn't able to read the data from your hard drive.
it could indicate an immanent hardware failure... I'd do a chkdsk /f right away and see if it finds and bad places on your drive.
start>run>cmd
chkdsk /f
"do you want to run chkdsk at next boot?"
yes
reboot
watch carefully for any problems during the scan
