Hmm...it's certainly looking that way according to your results.
I've never managed to get any discs with "edge" values, they're pretty much all either fine or have "atom" values and even EAC can't do anything about those.
I've always assumed that the bank of red lights in EAC display when error correction is taking place so when I get a couple of rows of lights in a track which then produces a matching rip with xACT/cdda2wav, I take that as proof of correction.
Anyway, your results were very interesting, if a little disheartening, but it'd be nice to get a definitive answer from someone and even nicer if someone would take up development of cdparanoia.
