DVD5 is a single layer DVD, DVD9 is a dual layer DVD.
That being said, if you download a DVD9 (dual layer) show and shrink it to fit on a single layer DVD (DVD5), you SHOULD NOT trade it. It should be for your own personal use.
I recommend looking at videohelp.com for some tutorials you may need.
